I like it. I have been wondering lately if you paint from life outside, how do you deal with the sun moving, clouds moving, and people, etc. moving? I would be afraid the reference would be totally different by the time I finished my work from when I started...
You don't! That's the beauty of it. You have to work quickly on your composition and then allot for the difference. This was a one day thing, but you could go do it at the same time each day to make sure your shadows are about the same. But the shadows always move, so you just place them and work as you go. This actually produces more for your piece. Gives a better feel. Which is why the impressionists movement was so popular. Also, with the people, you get used to that. Mine were sort of from memory, as they weren't about to pose for me. That's why they are so stiff.
